Sarahs Speech
Family, Friends all here in this room,
I’d like to say some words on Tom, my Groom.
It may not be traditional; it might not be preferred,
But Tom you know me, I must have the last word!
Thinking back 10 years, to the Colbayns canteen,
I wasn't impressed, but on me you were keen.
For some reason unknown, I agreed to a date,
But I’m so glad I did, it must have been fate.
We spent several years having so much fun,
Cruises, holidays, enjoying the sun.
Parties, nights out, days were far from boring,
Our life together was gradually forming.
After 3 years had passed a thought filled Tom’s head;
“I’ve found a house we can move into” he said.
We were so very proud to own our first home,
But Tom being Tom couldn't leave it alone!
“I’ll build an extension, and make it bigger.”
And before I knew it, he appeared with a digger!!
Tom worked so hard to improve every room,
And gave us the space for our family to bloom.
First came Lola, so much love we felt,
Isla, our second, butter wouldn’t melt!
Two beautiful girls; a wonderful treat,
Our perfect family was finally complete.
Now I stand here on our wedding day,
It’s taken 10 years, but what can I say:
Now it’s official and I’m so glad to be,
The newly married Mrs. Dearsley
I want to thank my parents for everything they've done,
I’m so proud to stand here and call you my mum.
Dad, you truly are the best there could be,
You’ve both been the perfect example to me.
Finally I’m thanking you Mr. D,
I don’t say it often, but you mean the world to me.
Even though you sometimes act a bit dumb,
Bought a jet ski, quad bike, a tattoo on your bum????
You’re my husband now and I feel very proud,
To stand up here and say it out loud.
So, all that’s left for us to do,
Is eat and drink and dance the night through!
